Forrest Yoga
with Christy

About Forrest Yoga: Forrest Yoga is a dynamic yoga system, a holistic approach, and a deeply transformative practice that focuses on healing physical and emotional pain, empowerment, and personal growth. The system was founded by Ana Forrest who continues to evolve the system to this day to meet the needs of the modern Western lifestyle. Pain in the neck, lower back and knees, as well as tension in the shoulders and hips, are common issues linked to sedentary habits, such as office work, and differ from the needs of people in the East, where yoga originated. To address these modern challenges, the structure of Forrest Yoga classes is designed with care and respect to support and strengthen the body, decompressing and relieving these points. Each class is suitable for all levels and accessible to everyone, offering variations to meet individual needs, and providing a safe, supportive environment for development. From the very first class, practitioners are encouraged to engage in deep, conscious breathing, which helps manage stress, anxiety, and daily challenges with greater clarity. Over time, practitioners cultivate deeper awareness, emotional resilience, and a stronger connection to their body, enabling them to respond to life's various challenges and everyday stresses with authenticity.

Mandala Creating
with Marilyn

Join us for an inspiring and relaxing journey into the world of Mandalas. This workshop is all about discovery, creativity, and self-expression. In this community gathering, we will delve into the basics of Mandalas - intricate geometric designs that represent the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism, but have been embraced globally for their beauty and meditative creation process. Under Marilyn's experienced guidance, we will practice some exercises to hone our understanding and techniques of Mandala art. Each participant will be encouraged to express themselves freely, exploring personal creativity through a variety of mediums. We will begin with drawing smaller Mandalas using pencils and markers, focusing on the therapeutic process of pattern-making. Get ready to transform a blank canvas into a colourful or black-and-white mini universe of your own creation. As we gain confidence and skill, we'll move onto larger pieces, covering advanced design techniques and enriching our palette with watercolours and acrylics. Whether you've always admired the mesmerising allure of golden Mandalas, are intrigued by the vibrancy of colourful ones, or favor the purity of black and white designs, this workshop offers a space for you to explore all these styles and more. Join us to unwind, connect with your inner artist, and create some Mandalamagic together!

Musafir
with Dina and Iman

Come and join us to explore memory as an overlap of personal experience and cultural or collective/community memory. We will focus on the crossing of any kind of borders - geographic or not, combinding artistic practice with tools and methodologies from feminist and anti-colonial studies and literature. We will play with rhythm, dancing and singing, movement and breathing to relax and activate the body and stimulate our imagination with theater exercises. Musafir workshop invites women, queers, immigrants and refugees to share and collectively create narratives, fragments, parts, images, smells, objects, photographs, paintings, songs - an archive of feelings. We hope that this will be a first step, an attempt to collectively write and stage a play about borders and their marks on our bodies, about borders and those who challenge them, about those who live a life "sin Frontera", a life without borders.
